PURPLE PANDA NURSERY CROYDON

Our Baby Unit is on the first floor of our newly-refurbished building. The Baby Unit is well-equipped and well-resourced. It also has its own roof garden, which is accessed directly from the Baby Unit, so the babies have in/out access throughout the day. We can accommodate 12 babies from age 6 months to 2 years.

Our Toddlers and Pre-schoolers are located on the ground floor. The ground floor has trifold doors which lead onto a large, well-equipped outdoor area. We keep these doors open in the good weather and we have an inside/outside classroom. We can accommodate 18 Toddlers and Pre-schoolers.

Our Team is led by Anthony, who divides his time between our Norbury branch and Croydon branch. He is supported by a very experienced deputy who has worked in childcare and education for over 20 years. Our team members are Level 2 and Level 3 Early Years Educators.

We also have an onsite chef, who makes healthy, nutritious meals for all of us.

Our curriculum framework, is the Early Years Foundation Stage. Education and first-hand experiences are central to everything that we do, and we educate the children through fun activities, which ignite their curiosity, creativity and problem-solving skills. We follow their interests when we devise lessons and activities for them.

We spend a lot of time helping the babies with their language and communication – babbling, then their own words, then single words and then phrases (Oh dear! More, please!). We have lots of singing and rhymes sessions, and the babies do a lot of sensory play in Gelli Baff, artificial snow, shredded paper, baked beans, coloured spaghetti, sand and water. It is not long before they are climbing on everything and being very active!
