ABOUT US

ABOUT US

Purple Panda Nursery is a privately-owned baby unit, day nursery and pre-school. We opened in July 2013 and we have had 10 great years looking after children educating them and giving them lots of fun first-hand experiences, as well as preparing them for school.

We take children between the ages of four months and five years.

Each of our Nursery rooms has been designed to maximise learning opportunities for children. The high ceilings and large windows in our buildings create bright, spacious environments for play and learning. All of our rooms are air-conditioned. We also have cosy and peaceful sleeping areas for the babies, tots and toddlers.

Our Norbury nursery has an impressive 100-foot highly secure playground and garden. Our Croydon nursery has a large outdoor play area and roof garden.  All of our outside areas and gardens have been designed for children to enjoy, play and learn. We have race-tracks with speed bumps and road markings (the children ride their bikes and scooters on these); there are multiple planters in which we grow vegetables, fruit and flowers; there are aeroplanes, slides, swings and lots of climbing equipment; we have two large sand-pits, a mud kitchen area, and we have a separate area for our rabbit – Oreo. We also have a dedicated outdoor area for the babies, part of which is covered by a large gazebo to protect the babies from the sun. We have a large decking area and the children have some of their lessons on the decking in the good weather.

Aims & Objectives

Our staff strive to provide children with happy, fun, secure, safe and stimulating environments in which to play, learn and develop. We encourage children to develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. We promote independence and a caring and sympathetic attitude to life in general.

When your children finally leave Purple Panda Nursery, we want them to be strong, responsible and independent individuals. We also want them to have a head start when they arrive in their reception classes. All of our children leave Purple Panda having reached an advanced level of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Parent Participation

Purple Panda Nursery fosters a very strong partnership with parents, and we actively encourage parent participation in everything we do, through regular parent meetings and in more informal discussions with our nursery teachers and managers. We are a relaxed and welcoming nursery, and we always welcome parent feedback and suggestions on how we can improve. We have very good relationships with our parents.

Parents are also welcome to join us on days out. Parents will, of course, be invited to attend presentations and performances by the children, prize giving and children’s graduation, as well as the many cultural events that we celebrate.

Equal Opportunities

The Nursery ensures equal opportunities for all. No potential or actual user of the Nursery, whether child or adult, will receive less favourable treatment on the grounds of ethnic origin, colour, gender, disability, marital status or sexual orientation, age or marital status.

We will ensure that children, irrespective of ethnicity, culture or religion, home language, family background, learning difficulties or disabilities, gender or ability, shall have the opportunity to experience a challenging and enjoyable programme of learning and development. We will promote multi-cultural education through toys and equipment and adult’s active awareness of opportunities.

Flexibility

We are also committed to flexibility and offer:

  • Free settling-in time
  • No late collection fees for occasional late or early arrivals
  • Extra days can be booked, if available

Confidentiality & Security of Data

We have very strict confidentiality policies. We will not discuss you or your children to anyone outside of the Nursery. We will also ensure that your personal data is secure. Paper records are locked in secure cabinets in the office and are accessible by the manager and deputy managers only.

Data on our computer system is also protected by anti-virus, firewall and email security programmes. Again, this information is accessible by the manager and deputy managers only. Information is disclosed to other members of staff on a need to know basis only.
