The Nursery

Purple Panda Nursery is a baby unit, day nursery and pre-school.  We take children between the ages of seven months and five years.  Purple Panda is divided into five separate rooms for children of different age groups and there is an additional building – The Sky House – which accomodates our Toddlers.  We have two separate baby rooms.

Each of our Nursery rooms has been designed to maximise learning opportunities for children.  The high ceilings and large windows in our building create bright, spacious environments for play and learning.  All of our rooms are air-conditioned.

We also have cosy and peaceful sleeping areas for the babies on the first floor of the Nursery.

The Nursery has a fully equipped kitchen, staff room and office accommodation, and it benefits from an impressive 100-foot highly secure playground and garden, monitored by CCTV and alarms.  The garden was designed for children to enjoy and play.  We have a race track with speed bumps and road markings (the children ride their bikes and scooters on this); there are multiple planters in which we grow vegetables, fruit and flowers; there is a pirate ship and lots of climbing equipment; we have two large sand-pits and we have a separate area for our rabbits – Cadbury, Marble and Mocha.  We have a dedicated outdoor area for the babies, part of which is covered by a large gazebo to protect the babies from the sun.   We also have a large decking area and the children have some of their lessons on the decking in the good weather.

Aims and Objectives

Our staff strive to provide children with happy, fun, secure, safe and stimulating environments in which to play, learn and develop.  We encourage children to develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. We promote independence and a caring and sympathetic attitude to life in general.

When your children finally leave Purple Panda Nursery, we want them to be strong, responsible and independent individuals.  We also want them to have a head start when they arrive in their reception classes.  All of our children leave Purple Panda having reached an advanced level of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Parent Participation

Purple Panda Nursery fosters a very strong partnership with parents, and we actively encourage parent participation in everything we do, through regular parent meetings and in more informal discussions with our nursery teachers and managers.  We are a relaxed and welcoming nursery, and we always welcome parent feedback and suggestions on how we can improve.  We have very good relationships with our parents.

Parents are also welcome to join us on days out.  Parents will, of course, be invited to attend presentations and performances by the children, prize giving and children’s graduation, as well as the many cultural events that we celebrate.

Equal Opportunities

The Nursery ensures equal opportunities for all.  No potential or actual user of the Nursery, whether child or adult, will receive less favourable treatment on the grounds of ethnic origin, colour, gender, disability, marital status or sexual orientation.

We are also committed to flexibility and offer:

  • Free settling-in time
  • No late collection fees for occasional late or early arrivals
  • Extra days can be booked, if available
